We had our first baby shower this past Sunday, May 18th. It was hosted by some dear friends, Patsy, Shauna, Danielle, Pam, Donna, and Betty Jane at Rosedale Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa. Marty and I are so blessed to have such love and support from our "extended" family at Rosedale Baptist Church and all the friends and family that came in town for the shower. We were overwhelmed at their generosity. I think if Camilla came today we would be ready!!!

"Baby Moon"
This past weekend Marty and I went to Destin, FL for our "Baby Moon".... I guess it is supposed to be like a honeymoon but this is a vacation that you take before your first born arrives. We had a great time. I was 28 weeks on this trip so it was a great time to travel plus this is a great time of year to go to the beach before it gets too hot. We had a great time sitting on the beach and by the pool. We also ate some good seafood and did some shopping at the outlet mall.
Baby Registry

We are now officially registered at Target!!! Marty and I spent over an hour one Saturday scanning everything we "think" we will need for Camilla. It was a lot of fun but more exhausting than we expected!!!

Nursery Update!
Here's an update on how the nursery is coming along. My mom made the curtains and pillows for the nursery and they look great! We have also hung Camilla's name over her crib and the shelf over the dresser/changing table. The room is really coming together and I just love it! I will keep you posted on any new updates.

San Francisco Trip
I had a great trip to San Francisco from March 7-14th with several of my friends/coworkers ( Katie, Stephanie and Jennifer). We all flew in the weekend before our company meeting so we could see the sites in San Francisco. This was a great time for me to travel. I was only 22 weeks and feeling great. We did lots of fabulous things like shopped in China Town, visited Golden Gate Park, hiked up the "crookedest street in America" and drove down the Pacific Coast Highway and across the Golden Gate Bridge in a convertible. Of course we took a ride on a cable car and ate at some awesome restaurants!
As you can tell, it is obvious that I am pregnant now. My belly is sticking out there for the world to see!!!

20 Weeks - We're Halfway There!!!!

Yesterday, March 4th, I had my 20 week appointment where they did another ultrasound to check all the organs and body part. Everything looks great! Camilla weighs almost 1 lb and is growing right on track! It was a great relief to hear that her heart, brain, lungs and all her other parts look perfect.
The top two pictures are of her profile. The middle pictures are of her face/body and bottom of her feet. The bottom pictures are of her bottom and the top of her head.
Special Dress
My mom has been going through the dresses and blankets that she saved from when my sister and I were babies. She has found some really cute dresses that are amazingly in great condition. I was so excited when she found the dress that I came home from the hospital in over 27 years ago. She also found the blanket that I came home in too. This blanket is extra special because Little Mama, my grandmother who passed away in November 2007, made this blanket for me before I was even born! Camilla will be coming home from the hospital in this very same dress and blanket. It will be very special!
Pretty Nursery!!!!!
After some online shopping, I found the crib bedding that was perfect for Camilla's Nursery at Pottery Barn Kids online! During the weekend of February 22-24th, I went to Birmingham and spent the weekend nursery/baby shopping with one of my best friends, Cameron, and my sister Kelly. With their help, we were able to really pull the nursery together! We found the crib bedding and rug at Pottery Barn Kids and really lucked up finding the twin bedding at Home Goods for an awesome deal! I knew that I wanted to put Camilla's name in letters over her crib but I was not sure what style or color. Cameron and I just stumbled upon these cute letters a children's shop in Birmingham. I can't wait to hang them....I just need to find some ribbon! We are still waiting on the crib mattress to arrive so just imagine it is there....haha. The crib mattress has been a nightmare. I ordered an organic mattress online and they keep sending the wrong one!
We still have some work to do. I will keep you posted.
Let's Paint
Luckily we are not having to paint the nursery but that does not mean that the daddy-to-be gets to miss out on painting! We got this antique dresser from a family friend, Mae. The finish was not in great condition and the wood color did not go with the nursery but it is a beautiful piece of furniture! We decided to paint it the same color as the crib. After sanding it down, two coats of primer and 2 coats of paint, it looks great!
Valentine's Day
For Valentine's Day this year all I wanted was to put up Camilla's crib in the nursery. Marty and I thought that it would be a challenge but it proved to be very quick and easy. I love this crib! It goes perfectly with the style of the nursery!!! My parents were so sweet to give us the crib as a baby gift! Marty also got me some cute V'day gifts! The plate says "We prayed for this child and the Lord has granted us what we asked of him." This is so true! We are thankful to the Lord everyday for blessing us with this baby!
Welcome to the Club!
On February 5, 2008, the morning after we found out that we were having a daughter, Marty and I woke up to a surprise! Several of our friends...Jason, Nathan, and Rodney...rolled and decorated our yard and home with pink paper, ribbons and balloons! I guess this is the their special way of welcoming us to the baby girl club!

It's a GIRL!!!!
On Monday, February 4, 2008 we found out that we are expecting a baby girl. We are very excited and already have her name all picked out. Her name will be Camilla Avery Vice and we will call her Camilla! We can't wait to meet her! She is due to arrive on July 19th!
This was a big day for the entire family. Camilla will be the first grandchild on both sides so my parents and Marty's parents were both at the ultrasound appointment. We also had my sister, Kelly, on the phone during the appointment so she could be apart of all the excitement too! WE ARE ALL VERY EXCITED!
