Fun with Daddy

Camilla is becoming more of a Daddy's girl everyday! I must admit that I am so glad! For a long time, she wanted me to do everything! Now she has figured out that Daddy is more fun I guess! I think she is at the age now where Marty knows how to play with her more if that makes sense. I think sometimes daddies don't really know how to interact/play with babies. Especially if they are not used to being around them. Camilla has been having a blast with Daddy this summer. She wakes up asking for him and is upset if he has already left for work before she wakes up!

Meeting John Parker Wilson at Publix!
For several days after we met  him she would ask if John Parker was still at Publix...haha!

Cutting grass with Daddy
She's a big helper these days!
Working up a sweat!
Before I knew it she had jumped into the water...I guess this was the best way to cool off!
Trying to lay down
She loves doing puzzles with Daddy...she does them all day and is really good at them!

2 Year Old Check-up

Camilla just had her 2 year old checkup at the doctors office and she is doing just perfect!

She is 34 inches tall (50th percentile) and weights 27 lbs (50th percentile). Here height is slacking off a little since she was a newborn. She was measuring in the upper percentiles but now she is in more of an average range. We didn't expect her to be too tall since I am only 5ft 3in.

Here's what Camilla can do these days...
3-4 word sentences
knows all her colors
loves puzzles
counts to ten
know a ton of animals and sounds
can pronounce just about anything...rhinoceros and Tuscaloosa are pretty impressive!
understands sharing
is learning to go to the potty....we have not perfected this yet!
love to have Mommy and Daddy playing with her ALL the time!
will tell you where to sit and what to do
takes care of her babies
throws a fit when she does not get what she wants
loves popsicles
loves water - swimming, bathing - any kind of water!

We just love her to pieces - She's not a baby anymore - she's our little girl now!

Funny Girl....

Camilla is to funny these days...she found the baby bouncer in our bedroom the other day and has been using it to take care of her babies! Then she had to try it out herself!

She loves to act silly and dress up too!

She looks like a "punk" princess!

One more gift....

Nana and Papa saved one more gift for Camilla to open on her actual birthday....a Dora playhouse! She loves it!

Happy 2nd Birthday Camilla

Today is our sweet little girl's 2nd birthday. I can hardly believe that we have a 2 year old now! She has filled our life with such joy! Some days are tough but I am loving this time of my life. It is so much fun to see the world through a child's eyes. Camilla is starting to say some funny stuff. For example, when we are driving in the car she will say, "Watch out cars hit you!"  This is what we tell her when we walk through parking lots so she will hold our hand. I guess she is just looking out for me while I am driving. When we walk past a table of kids at a restaurant she says "Hey Kids!" like she is bigger than they are...haha! She is so friendly and social. She never meets a stranger and acts like she is in a parade everywhere we go because she waves and says hey to EVERYONE!

We just love this little one too much! Happy Birthday Sugar Booger!

To celebrate her actual birthday, my mom and I took her to Grandma's Attic and the MOOseum. We had so much fun. Here are some pictures.
Last night we tried on Camilla's new dress...she loved it!
We saved one of her gifts for her to open this morning...she was so excited!

Camilla's 2nd Birthday Party

We celebrated Camilla's 2nd birthday yesterday with a splash party in our backyard. I was a little worried that it might rain but the weather was perfect...for July anyway! We had 14 little girls having a blast in our backyard yesterday morning. We had two pools, a water table, a sprinkler and a slip-n-slide set up. Camilla was so excited and has been waiting for this party for days! (We didn't tell her until it was the week of the party because she has no concept of time!)  Marty and I love Camilla so much and we just can't believe she is already TWO! Time really does fly!

I took almost 200 pictures so here are a few in a collage format so I don't have to upload so many. You can click on the picture to see it larger.

Tomorrow is her actual birthday and we have some fun stuff planned for  her. I will update with those soon!

This is the 16x20 collage I had printed and put out at the party.
There are 30 pictures from Camilla's birth to now!

New Friends....

Camilla has made several new friends this week. On Wednesday night, Marty's college roommate and his family stopped for a visit on their way home from the beach. They have a son Cooper (4) and a little girl, Sadie (2). They had fun playing together.

Camilla's newest friend is Lily! She is only 8 days younger than Camilla and was just adopted from China by some of our dear friends, Chip and Susie. She has only been home a week but I think she was glad to have another "little person" to play with. She and Camilla played so good together. I am sure they will be best buddies!

4th of July Fun...

I have to admit that it was a little weird having the 4th of July on a Sunday. We got up and went to church and came home for lunch and took a nap...a pretty normal Sunday for us. We usually have plans with friends but several of them were out of town this year. We ended up eating over at my parents and then we met up with my best friends, Cameron and Caroline to watch fireworks at Wynlakes. They didn't start until 9 pm and Camilla was wild and running on fumes! She liked the fireworks but was a little scared.

Since the actual holiday was on a Sunday, Marty had today off so we went to the zoo. It was pretty nice out - just a little warm. Camilla loves it there and loves seeing all the animals.

Here are some pictures from our lazy 4th of July weekend!

Camilla loves swinging in this blanket...only Daddy can do it now since she is getting so BIG!
