Quick Update...

Sorry I have not blogged lately. I just have not been on the computer much and I really have not taken too many pictures. 2010 is starting off to be a pretty good year for us. Of course we are Bama fans, so we were so excited about the National Championship. We watched the first half of the game at the Barnett's home. That night we found out that our good friends Rodney and Carrie are expecting a little one in August! We are so excited for them. I thought the t-shirt Carrie made to announce the news was so cute!

Camilla and I have been doing a lot of hanging out at the house since the new year has started off so cold and rainy! We did start Kindermusik this month. We go every Monday morning and Camilla loves it! We sing and dance and along the way they learn new things too! The focus so far is trains and so we talk about "choo choos" a lot now.

Speaking of talking, Camilla is quite the chatter box. She is 18 months old now and is a great communicator and can say or try to say almost anything you ask her too. It is so cute to hear all the things she has to say.

Here are a few pictures from the past month....

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!

We have had a very busy 3 days as I am sure you have too! We started the festivities on December 22nd with a visit from my best friends Cameron and Caroline. They came over to visit with Camilla and give her her Christmas gifts. She just loves them! That night when we came in from dinner we noticed a SLEIGH coming down the street so we had to check it out. It was a sleigh being pulled by a lawnmower! How funny?!? It was decorated with lights and presents too!

The next day my sister (Kelly) and her husband (Jonathan) came in town so we went over to Nana's house to make some Christmas goodies....cheese straws, peanut butter balls, chocolate covered pretzels and toffee brittle. It was so yummy and Camilla got to help with the sprinkles!

On Christmas Eve, we headed over to my parent's house around 3 pm to open gifts with them before we went to the church Candlelight Service (which was beautiful...what I saw of it anyway!) Camilla was not very obedient during the service so one of us was always in the hall with her! Back to the gifts...we had a great time and Camilla really loves opening presents this year. After the service, we went to my aunt and uncle's house for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. It is so good to get together with everyone. Camilla had a blast with all of her cousins (Kendal, Lauren and Kate). They even had some gifts from Santa dropped off at the front door! The older kids really got into this idea. After dinner, we headed home. I thought Camilla would be exhausted (I know I was) and go right to bed but she had a really restless night. I guess she was anxious about Santa coming!

On Christmas morning, Camilla woke up about 7:30 am. First of all, Santa always put a baby doll in the bed with me and my sister every Christmas when we were young and he does the same thing for Camilla! She was excited to have a new baby in the bed with her when she woke up. I think she was pretty amazed at how good Santa thought she was this year...haha! She had so much fun playing with all of her toys...Daddy did too! Marty read the Christmas Story and then we went to Nana and Papa's for Christmas breakfast with all the aunts, uncles and cousins!

After nap time on Christmas day, Marty's parents, Mimi and Poppy, came to our house to celebrate Christmas - it was so nice not having to leave right after breakfast to head to Tuscaloosa. We opened gifts, ate dinner and drove around to look at Christmas lights! Camilla always has a great time when they come to visit.

It was a busy couple of days but what a great reason to celebrate....the BIRTH OF OUR LORD and SAVIOR!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Fun....

We have been doing lots of fun things this month! Last week, my mom and I took Camilla to Eastdale mall to do some shopping and let her ride the Carousel and some of the "quarter" rides. Camilla of course loved the carousel. The little car she rode in had a missing cover over one of the buttons and she burnt a blister on her little index finger. When she went to push the button, she touched a HOT light bulb. I was so upset. She recovered quickly but she had a hard, loud and painful cry. It just broke my heart!

We also made sugar cookies on Saturday morning. This is a Christmas tradition from when I was little. Camilla had a great time doing the icing and sprinkles!

On Saturday night, Marty and I went to our annual Sunday School Christmas Party. It was so much fun. My parents watched Camilla for us and took her to the Zoo Christmas Lights Festival. It was freezing so they just took a quick ride on the train and left. But they said that Camilla loved all the lights!

This was the ride she burned her finger on...

of course this was taken before the incident.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year...

Sorry I have not been blogging much lately. I have been very busy. We have been Christmas shopping, decorating, baking, visiting our friends Stephanie and Olive in Headland, seeing Santa and enjoying Cameron and Caroline's annual Christmas Party in Birmingham.

Camilla is growing and changing so much. She is more like a little girl than a baby now. She will try to say almost anything you ask her to now! She loves doing her sounds like when we say "What does the ____ say?"
Car - "beep beep"
Cow - "moo"
Sheep- "baa"
Santa - "ho ho" (only two hos)
Crab - "pinch pinch"
Duck - "quack quack"
Clock - "tick tock"
Cat - "meow"

She is a much better communicator now. Which is great. She says:
Mommy
Daddy
Nannie
Pawpaw
Tree
Snack
Uh-o
Please
No
Gone Gone
Bottle
What's that
I eat
Bye
Hi/Hey
Poop
Nose
Eye

Here are some pictures of what we have been up to.....
